Job description

The incumbent's principal responsibilities are to independently perform general radiographic technology (R), Computed Tomography (CT), Dexa Scan procedures at above the full performance level for the patients of the VA NWI-Health Care System, as well as other duties necessary for the functionality of the imaging department.

The qualifications and requirements include:

• U.S. Citizenship (non-citizens may be appointed if qualified citizens are unavailable)
• Completion of a 24-month or longer accredited diagnostic radiologic technology program, evidenced by a certificate or associate degree
• Certification in general radiologic technology by the ARRT (R)
• Advanced ARRT certification for CT, MRI, or Mammography duties performed independently
• Proficiency in spoken and written English
• Experience equivalent to at least one year at GS-8 level for GS-9 position, demonstrating specific clinical competencies

Additional qualifications include knowledge of anatomy, physiology, cross-sectional anatomy, patient care, and safety procedures. The position involves performing radiographic procedures, including contrast media administration, digital radiology, and specialized CT scans, with knowledge of PACS and digital systems. The work schedule is Monday-Friday, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm.
