Job summary

UVA Health System in Charlottesville, Virginia, seeks a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging that supports patient care, education, and clinical research across diverse patient populations.

You will work with radiologists and care teams to deliver high-quality imaging, adhere to safety standards, and contribute to a scholarly, Magnet-recognized academic medical center with a Level 1 trauma designation.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited JRC program in Radiography.
• Associate’s Degree in Radiography preferred.
• ARRT R.T. certification and AHA BLS required; Virginia Driver’s License may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations using established protocols to ensure image quality, patient safety, and diagnostic accuracy.
• Prepare, position, and educate patients to support comfort, cooperation, and optimal imaging outcomes.
• Operate and maintain imaging equipment, ensuring adherence to radiation safety standards and departmental quality guidelines.
• Apply clinical judgment to adapt positioning and technique based on patient condition and clinical indication.
• Communicate effectively with radiologists and care teams to support timely interpretation and coordinated care.
• Contribute to a collaborative department culture that values professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement.
