Job summary

UVA Health in Charlottesville, VA, is seeking a Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist to perform imaging procedures that support patient care, education, and research within an academic medical center.

You will work with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and fellow technologists to deliver high-quality imaging, ensure patient safety, and contribute to ongoing clinical excellence. Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited JRC program in Radiography.
• ARRT R.T. certification required; BLS certification required.
• Virginia driver's license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations using established protocols to ensure image quality, patient safety, and diagnostic accuracy.
• Prepare, position, and educate patients to support comfort, cooperation, and optimal imaging outcomes.
• Operate and maintain imaging equipment, ensuring adherence to radiation safety standards and departmental quality guidelines.
• Apply clinical judgment to adapt positioning and technique based on patient condition and clinical indication.
• Communicate effectively with radiologists and care teams to support timely interpretation and coordinated care.
• Contribute to a collaborative department culture that values professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Education

Graduate of an accredited JRC program in Radiography

Associate’s Degree in Radiography preferred
