Summary

This Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist (DRT) position is assigned to the Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Radiology Service within the Cincinnati VA Medical Center. The Cincinnati VA Medical Center is a 1B facility. The DRT is responsible for, independently and without supervision, performing a wide variety of routine to moderately complex diagnostic radiology examinations.

Duties
  • Receives patients, explains methods of procedures, positions patient, and makes exposures necessary for the requested examination.
  • Independently makes standard examinations and confers with Radiologists for nonstandard ones.
  • Evaluates critical and emergency procedures, adjusting patient priorities accordingly.
  • Operates Diagnostic Imaging equipment independently, helps develop new techniques, and visualizes pathology within the patient.
  • Performs complex radiologic examinations to aid diagnosis, including positioning, selecting technical factors, and setting up equipment.
  • Follows HIPAA guidelines, manages data retrieval, and ensures proper identification and transfer of images.
  • Prepares and adjusts accessory equipment, transmits images to PACS, and explains procedures to patients.
  • Collaborates with Radiologists to establish examination requirements and technical factors.
  • Maintains cleanliness and supplies in examination rooms.
  • Performs diagnostic imaging as prescribed, determines radiographic exposure factors, and assists with fluoroscopic and specialized procedures.
  • Participates in physiologic monitoring of patients and performs other related duties.
Work Schedule

Monday - Friday, 4:00 pm - 12:00 am, including On-Call and weekends.

Qualifications
