Job summary

Wray Community District Hospital and Clinic is seeking a Diagnostic Sonographer to perform ultrasound exams and provide high-quality patient care in Wray, Colorado. The role requires ARDMS certification, RDMS abdomen/OB-GYN and RVT credentials, with sponsorship possible to obtain RDCS in adult echocardiography. • ARDMS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provides diagnostic ultrasound imaging and related patient care.
• Operates sonographic equipment independently and communicates results.
• Participates in CQI activities.
• Willing to obtain RDCS in adult echocardiography through company sponsorship.
• Prepare exam room and equipment per infection control and safety policies.
• Ensure orders are complete and medically necessary.
• Position patients and use proper techniques for data quality.
• Apply professional judgment to capture accurate findings.
• Review images and prepare preliminary findings.

Job Description

Provides diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound. Is responsible for the independent operation of sonographic equipment and for performing and communicating results. Participates in CQI activities.

Willing to obtain RDCS in adult echocardiography through company sponsorship.

Essential Duties include but not limited to

• Prepare exam room and ultrasound equipment to conduct sonography examinations in accordance with infectious disease, sterilization, and patient safety protocols, policies, and procedures.
• Ensure that the sonography examination order is complete, contains relevant information, and meets the standard of "medical necessity."
• Use proper patient positioning tools, devices, equipment adjustment, and ergonomically correct scanning techniques to ensure patient comfort and safety, and to prevent compromised data acquisition or musculoskeletal injury to the sonographer.
• Apply independent judgment during the sonography examination to ensure that appropriate anatomical, pathological, and clinical conditions are accurately captured in the examination images.
• Evaluate any contraindications, insufficient patient preparation, and the patient's inability or unwillingness to tolerate the examination and associated procedures.
• Review examination images, synthesize examination results, and prepare preliminary findings.
