The Diagnostic Imaging Manager provides day-to-day leadership for diagnostic imaging services, ensuring safe, accurate exams and a consistent patient experience across age groups. This role exists to align imaging operations with quality standards, regulatory expectations, and departmental performance goals.
Key responsibilities include coordinating staffing for rotating 8-hour shifts (days/evenings/weekends/holidays), overseeing workflow and documentation, supporting modality performance, and addressing equipment and system issues (PACS/RIS, printers, copiers, fax, phones). The manager also supports staff development, communication, and compliance expectations.
As the Diagnostic Imaging Manager, you'll begin by confirming the day's exam schedule, room readiness, and rotating 8-hour shift coverage. You'll round with technologists and connect with nursing and providers to align on add-ons, stat needs, and patient preparation. During the shift, you'll keep throughput steady by resolving questions at the front line and updating communication when priorities change. If PACS/RIS or other department equipment issues occur, you'll coordinate quick troubleshooting to prevent delays. You'll close out the day by reviewing key logs, following up on open items, and planning ahead for weekend and holiday staffing.
