Job summary

IU Health in Indiana is seeking a team-oriented individual to assist in imaging exams under supervision. The role includes clerical tasks such as scheduling, registration, patient screening, and information release, as well as patient care activities like transporting patients and preparing them for procedures.

Responsibilities extend to discussing exams with patients, starting IV access as needed, and supporting minimally invasive procedures while adhering to training and competency

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 0-3 years of experience preferred.
• Medical Terminology preferred.
• Experience in a hospital or medical environment preferred.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in imaging exams under supervision of radiologist/technologist/nurse.
• Handle clerical duties: scheduling/registration, patient screening, reception, release of information, inventory.
• Transport and transfer patients; prepare patients for procedures; discuss exams and preps with patients.
• Assist with starting IV access lines and with minimally invasive procedures as approved.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

Overview

Works under the supervision of a radiologist, technologist, or radiology nurse. Performs clerical and/or patient care duties necessary to assist in performing imaging exams. Clerical duties may include, but are not limited to patient scheduling & registration, patient screening, reception, release of information, and maintaining inventory. Patient care duties may include, but are not limited to transporting and transferring patients, preparing patients for procedures, discussing exams and preps with patients, starting IV access lines, and assisting with minimally invasive procedures as approved by regional leadership and with documentation of training and competency. All other duties as assigned. Must be actively registered in a radiology x-ray program.

• High School Diploma/GED.
• 0-3 years of experience.
• Medical Terminology, preferred.
• Experience in a hospital or medical environment, preferred.
• Customer service experience, preferred.
• May require Basic Life Support certification.
