Job summary

Arizona Department of Health Services seeks a Diabetes Program Manager to lead the Diabetes Prevention and Control Program across Arizona. The role informs policymakers and the public on prevention, diagnosis, and management of diabetes, while coordinating with partners and managing program budgets and contracts.

The position requires collaboration with chronic disease teams and external stakeholders to advance statewide health initiatives and ensure compliant program operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Public Health or related field with 4 years of professional experience, to include two years of diabetes, chronic disease, and/or population health.
• Experience in managing public health programs, contracts and grants.

Responsibilities

• Manages the Diabetes Prevention and Control Program within funding guidance.
• Informs and educates state policy makers, program administrators, and the public about diabetes prevention and control.
• Prepares and manages contracts with service providers.
• Develops program evaluations, needs assessments and surveys.
• Maintains relationships with internal and external partners to maximize program effectiveness.
• Performs duties to support statewide diabetes prevention and control efforts.
