Job summary

Johns Hopkins Medicine is seeking a Diabetes Educator Certified (Dietitian) for Central Nursing in an outpatient setting. The role involves assessing, planning, and delivering diabetes education, serving as the diabetes nutritionist, and educating professionals and the public.

The candidate will build programs, respond to family inquiries, and bridge inpatient to outpatient care with a focus on pediatric and type 1/2 diabetes concerns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics and current licensure as an allied health professional.
• Must obtain CDCES within 1 year of employment.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and basic disease processes.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a related role.
• Proficiency with MS PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate components of the diabetes education program.
• Provide diabetes education to patients and families in outpatient settings.
• Respond to phone calls regarding sick day management and diabetes concerns.
• Support transition from inpatient to outpatient diabetes care.
• Conduct continuing education programs in diabetes and nutrition for staff and the public.
