The role oversees the DSMES program, coordinates staff education, records and analyzes data for program improvement, and collaborates with committees to advance diabetes care within inpatient and outpatient settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in dietetics or related field.
• Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Nurse; state licensure; CDE certification.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes patient care protocols for pediatric to geriatric patients and documents in the medical record.
• Provides diabetes care for outpatient and inpatient clients.
• Acts as quality coordinator for the DSMES program; plans, implements, and evaluates the program.
• Chairs the diabetes advisory committee.
• Oversees daily billing of diabetes services.
