Job summary

Princeton Staffing Solutions is seeking a School Based DHH Teacher in Tallahassee to deliver specialized instruction to deaf and hard of hearing students within a K-12 program. The role uses ASL, lip-reading, and written English to support communication and learning, with assistive tech like hearing aids and FM systems.

• Bachelor's or Master's in Deaf Education or Special Education with DHH endorsement.
• Valid state teaching license with DHH credential or endorsement.
• ASL proficiency preferred or required by district.
• Experience in school-based DHH settings is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Utilize assistive technology (hearing aids, FM systems, captioning, visuals) to support learning.
• Develop and adapt instructional materials based on IEP goals and language abilities.
• Provide direct and consultative services across general education, resource, or self-contained settings.
• Collaborate with teachers, SLPs, interpreters, and other service providers for access and accommodations.
• Support language development, academic progress, and social-emotional growth.
• Advocate for students to ensure inclusive practices and appropriate accommodations.
• Maintain documentation, progress reports, and participate in IEP meetings.
• Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.

• Deliver specialized instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing using appropriate communication modes such as American Sign Language (ASL), lip-reading, and written English.
• Utilize assistive technology (e.g., hearing aids, FM systems, captioning, visual tools) to support communication and learning.
• Develop and adapt instructional materials and curricula based on individual student needs, IEP goals, and language abilities.
• Provide direct and consultative services to students across educational environments (general education, resource, or self-contained).
• Collaborate with general education teachers, speech-language pathologists, interpreters, and other related service providers to ensure access and accommodations.
• Support students' language development, academic progress, and social-emotional growth.
• Advocate for students with hearing impairments to ensure inclusive practices and appropriate accommodations.
• Maintain documentation, progress reports, and participate in IEP meetings.
• Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment for all students.
