Job summary

Silliant Health is seeking a dedicated educator to provide specialized instruction to Deaf or Hard of Hearing students in the Tallahassee, FL area. This contract opportunity focuses on creating inclusive, accessible learning environments and collaborating with families and staff.

Qualified candidates are certified to teach Deaf or Hard of Hearing and experienced in IEP development, with strong communication and teamwork skills to support student success.

Qualifications

• Certified to teach Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
• Experience in school-based settings or with children is preferred.
• Knowledge of assistive technology and alternative communication methods (e.g., ASL).
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with students, staff and families.
• Ability to develop and implement IEPs tailored to student needs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct instruction to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students, adapting curriculum as needed.
• Assess student progress; participate in IEP meetings and goal setting.
• Collaborate with general education staff, interpreters and specialists for accessible classrooms.
• Provide resources, training, and support to colleagues and families on inclusion.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction and services accordingly.
