The Phoenix Staffing is actively seeking experienced Apartment Maintenance Technicians for multifamily communities in the Dallas area. You will respond to maintenance requests, perform repairs, and help keep properties clean, safe, and well-maintained.

Ideal candidates have hands-on apartment maintenance experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and a track record with resident work orders and unit turns. The role emphasizes safety, professionalism, and reliable service to residents.

Qualifications

  • Previous apartment maintenance or multifamily maintenance experience is REQUIRED.
  • Hands-on maintenance experience within occupied apartment communities.
  • Working knowledge of apartment plumbing, electrical, appliances, carpentry, drywall, and general maintenance.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to identify and resolve common issues.
  • Experience completing resident work orders and service requests.
  • Experience with apartment make-turns and unit turns.
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance and apartment community inspections.
  • Familiarity with Fair Housing practices and apartment community procedures.

  • Troubleshoot and perform repairs involving plumbing, electrical, appliances, carpentry, drywall, and other apartment systems.
  • Diagnose maintenance issues and determine appropriate repairs or next steps.

  • Complete preventive maintenance and property inspections.
  • Assist with apartment make-readies, unit turns, and punch-list items.
  • Repair or replace fixtures, hardware, appliances, and other apartment components.
  • Maintain community amenities, common areas, buildings, and exterior areas.
  • Communicate maintenance updates and repair status with property management teams.
  • Maintain accurate work orders and document completed repairs as required.

Maintenance Full Time $20.00 - $24.00 per hour Dallas, TX, United States

We specialize exclusively inmultifamily staffing, connecting experienced Maintenance Technicians with apartment communities and property management companies looking for qualified maintenance talent.

Previous apartment maintenance or multifamily maintenance experience is required for this position.At this time, The Phoenix Staffing is only able to hire and onboard candidates with prior apartment industry experience.

What You’ll Do

As an Apartment Maintenance Technician, you’ll help maintain apartment homes, community amenities, and property grounds while responding to maintenance needs and supporting the overall condition of the community.

Depending on the property and assignment, responsibilities may include:

  • Complete resident service requests and work orders efficiently and professionally
  • Troubleshoot and perform repairs involving plumbing, electrical, appliances, carpentry, drywall, and other apartment systems
  • Diagnose maintenance issues and determine appropriate repairs or next steps
  • Perform basic HVAC troubleshooting and maintenance when qualified
  • Complete preventive maintenance and property inspections
  • Assist with apartment make-readies, unit turns, and punch-list items
  • Repair or replace fixtures, hardware, appliances, and other apartment components
  • Maintain community amenities, common areas, buildings, and exterior areas
  • Communicate maintenance updates and repair status with property management teams
  • Maintain accurate work orders and document completed repairs as required
  • Keep tools, equipment, maintenance areas, and workspaces clean and organized
  • Follow proper safety procedures and use appropriate PPE
  • Provide professional and courteous service when interacting with residents
  • Assist with additional property and maintenance needs as assigned
What We’re Looking For
  • Previous apartment maintenance or multifamily maintenance experience is REQUIRED
  • Hands-on experience completing maintenance and repairs within occupied apartment communities
  • Working knowledge of apartment plumbing, electrical, appliances, carpentry, drywall, and general maintenance
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to identify and resolve common apartment maintenance issues
  • Experience completing resident work orders and service requests
  • Experience with apartment make-turns and unit turns
  • Comfortable using common hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment
  • Ability to prioritize work orders and manage multiple maintenance needs throughout the day
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance and apartment community inspections
  • Understanding of safe work practices and proper use of PPE
  • Professional communication skills when interacting with residents, property staff, vendors, and other maintenance team members
  • Familiarity with Fair Housing practices and apartment community procedures
  • Bilingual candidates are highly encouraged to apply
  • Reliable transportation to assigned apartment communities
  • Valid driver’s license may be required for certain assignments
Certifications and Additional Experience

Depending on the community and assignment, the following may be preferred or required:

  • EPA 608 Certificationfor assignments involving HVAC or refrigerant work
  • CPO (Certified Pool Operator)certification for communities requiring pool maintenance
  • Additional HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or maintenance certifications
  • Experience with property management or work-order systems such as Yardi, RealPage, Entrata, or similar platforms
