Job summary

Vail Health in Avon, CO is seeking a DEXA Technician to perform bone density scans and support osteoporosis care. This full-time, on-site role requires accurate imaging, patient comfort, and strict safety and documentation practices.

You will operate DXA equipment, verify orders, and maintain high-quality records while collaborating with clinicians to ensure efficient patient care. BLS, CBDT/ARRT or equivalent certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• DEXA imaging knowledge and operation required or preferred.
• Accurate data collection and high-quality imaging.
• Familiarity with radiation safety standards and infection control.

Responsibilities

• Perform DXA scans according to orders and protocols.
• Position patients and operate imaging equipment for diagnostic images.
• Explain exam to patient and ensure comfort and safety.
• Verify patient information and orders prior to imaging.
• Analyze scan quality and document results for interpretation.
• Maintain records in the EHR and imaging systems.
• Follow radiation safety standards and infection control procedures.
• Collaborate with providers to ensure timely patient care.
