Job summary

Gold Fields is seeking an experienced technician to support underground maintenance at Agnew, with a focus on dewatering systems. You will inspect, repair, and service pumps and associated infrastructure to maximise reliability, under strict safety guidelines.

The role involves 8 days on, 6 days off, with Fly in Fly out from Perth, and requires trades qualifications plus SAP/MS Office familiarity. Gold Fields promotes inclusive values and career growth in a remote mining setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in Fixed Plant Maintenance, preferably underground.
• Knowledge of SAP and MS Office is advantageous.
• Trades Ticket (Plumbing/Mechanical) required or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Carry out mechanical repairs, servicing or modifications to equipment to maximise availability and efficiency.
• Perform preventative maintenance of underground dewatering system.
• Fault-finding, diagnosis and repair of damaged pumps and dewatering infrastructure.
• Maintain ancillary equipment and review maintenance processes for potential improvements.
• Prioritise and coordinate unplanned work throughout the week.

Role Details:

Reporting to the Leading Hand: Electrical and Dewatering, you will be responsible for assisting the mining maintenance team to dewater Agnew mine safely and efficiently.This will be achieved by managing, installing, repairing, and monitoring dewatering infrastructure including pumps (diesel and electric) and site infrastructure whilst following policies and procedures, along with statutory regulations.

About the role:

• Carry out mechanical repairs, servicing or modifications to equipment in such a way as to maximise machine mechanical availability and increase operating efficiency.
• Carry out preventative maintenance of underground dewatering system.
• Carry out fault-finding, diagnosis and repair of damaged pumps, and all dewatering infrastructure.
• Maintain ancillary equipment.
• Carry out the regular review of maintenance processes and investigate, assess and where appropriate, propose modern technology.
• Prioritise resource and coordinate all unplanned work that arises over the course of the week.

About you:

• Proven experience in Fixed Plant Maintenance, preferably in an underground environment
• Valid W.A manual Driver’s Licence
• Trades Ticket i.e. (Plumbing, Mechanical, or similar)
• Basic Computer skills in Microsoft Office Programs, SAP would be an advantage
• Knowledge and application of relevant statutory obligations
• HR license, Crane, Dogging, EWP and Forklift tickets would be advantageous to your application
