Job summary

Moderna is seeking a hands-on DevSecOps Software Engineer to build and evolve the developer platform, empowering builders to develop, deploy, and operate software securely at scale. You’ll collaborate with developers to deliver scalable tooling, automation, and AI-assisted capabilities across AWS and CI/CD pipelines.

The role emphasizes improving developer experience, reducing toil, and enabling secure software delivery, with opportunities to influence internal tooling and platform strategies

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering, platform engineering, DevOps or related role.
• Strong programming in TypeScript/JavaScript or Python.
• Hands-on experience with AWS.
• Experience creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for production systems.
• Interest in developer tooling and secure software delivery.
• Solid fundamentals: testing, code review, version control, system design.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain automation for developer platform services.
• Partner with application teams to migrate workloads onto standard platform capabilities.
• Migrate and manage existing DevOps tooling to a standardized platform.
• Create and maintain developer workspace infrastructure, templates, and base images.
• Improve reliability through monitoring, dashboards, and runbooks.
• Write internal documentation and paved‑road guides for builders.
• Identify recurring developer pain points and contribute improvements to shared tooling.
• Provide operational support for owned platforms and reduce toil through automation.
• Enable AI-assisted development across the platform.
