Job summary

HII Mission Technologies is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join the U.S. Army GVSC project in Warren, MI. You will design and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines, containerized applications, and guide teams in tooling and process improvements.

The role requires on-site work in Warren and focuses on DevSecOps, security integration, and mentorship to foster a high-performing engineering team.

Qualifications

• 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 0 years with Masters; or HS diploma with 6 years relevant experience.
• Hands-on GitLab experience and CI/CD pipeline development.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Proficient in IaC (Terraform) and configuration management (Ansible).
• Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure or GCP; security tooling in DevSecOps.
• Familiarity with GitLab Runners, monitoring (Prometheus/Grafana) and log tooling (ELK/OpenSearch).
• Strong Linux admin skills, networking basics, and use of Jira/Confluence.
• Ability to obtain/maintain DoD Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and maintain CI/CD pipelines in GitLab for multiple teams.
• Build, manage, and secure containerized applications.
• Lead migration from Bitbucket to GitLab with minimal disruption.
• Apply security best practices in build and deployment workflows.
• Mentor teammates on DevSecOps tools and processes.
