Job summary

Core4ce is hiring a DevSecOps Engineer to deliver containerization, cloud, and systems engineering for a major DoD program. Responsibilities include engineering container services, sustaining Kubernetes clusters, security procedures, and SOP documentation.

The role requires DoD experience or the ability to obtain a Secret clearance, extensive Linux administration, and hands-on work with Kubernetes tools (GitLab, Harbor, ArgoCD). Hybrid growth and cross-functional collaboration are expected.

Qualifications

• Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
• Seven+ years administering and hardening Linux operating systems (prefer Red Hat).
• Five+ years designing and deploying hardened Kubernetes clusters and cluster orchestration platforms (Rancher, OpenShift).
• Two+ years with Windows operating system.
• Two+ years of AWS experience including EKS, EC2, S3, EBS, Load-Balancers, RDS.
• Experience with Kubernetes tools (GitLab, Harbor, ArgoCD, StackRox, Keycloak).
• Experience operating in a DoD environment with network/access/security policies.
• Ability to obtain CKA certification within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Engineer new container services and sustain existing container orchestration systems.

• Manage accounts, network rights, and system resources (performance, capacity, availability).

Job description

Core4ce is hiring a DevSecOps Engineer to deliver containerization engineering, virtualization engineering, cloud engineering, systems engineering, software engineering, system administration, configuration management, cybersecurity, training curriculum development, technical support, test and evaluation, lifecycle logistics, and sustainment for a large DoD program.

Responsibilities

• Engineering new container services
• Understanding customer requirements, needs and pain points and evaluating available, best of class solutions.
• Sustain existing container orchestration systems
• Support system architecture design and implementation efforts
• Managing accounts and network rights
• Managing systems resources including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability
• Implementing security procedures and tools
• Developing and documenting systems administration standard operating procedures
• Troubleshoot compute infrastructure/software interface and interoperability problems
• Ensuring Kubernetes environment availability, functionality, integrity, and efficiency; maintaining systems configuration
• Managing the installation and integration of system fixes, updates, and enhancements
• Ensuring the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices

Requirements

• Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain a Secret clearance
• Minimum of seven (7) years administering and hardening of Linux Operating Systems, preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
• Five (5) years of experience designing and deploying hardened Kubernetes clusters and cluster orchestration platforms, such as Rancher and OpenShift. This should include performing the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of dev, staging and production environments.
• Minimum of two (2) years with the Windows Operating system.
• Two (2) years of experience with Amazon AWS, including: EKS, EC2, S3, EBS, Load-Balancers, and RDS
• Experience with Kubernetes tools, such as Gitlab, Harbor, ArgoCD, Red Hat Advanced Cluster Security (Stackrox), Keycloak, etc.
• Experience operating in a DoD environment, in particular navigating network, access, and security/accreditation policies and requirements.
• Ability to obtain Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) certification within 6 months of hire

Preferred Experience

• Terraform, Ansible, RKE1, RKE2, EKS
• Familiarity with deploying and managing Windows container environments is a plus
• Experience working in a DevOps or DevSecOps environment with an Agile methodology preferred
