Job description

We're looking for a DevSecOps Engineer who sees security as a feature—not a roadblock.

At Aviture, we don't separate innovation from security, we bake it in from the first commit. Now, we're expanding a critical new line of business for a customer, and we need someone to lead the charge on building secure, automated, and high-performance pipelines that developers want to use.

This is an onsite role at a customer facility where you'll be representing Aviture directly. You won't just be "helping secure things", you'll be designing and owning the infrastructure, processes, and mindset that bring DevSecOps to life in a real, operational environment.

What You'll Actually Be Doing:

  • Embedding with a customer team to lead the design and implementation of secure, automated CI/CD pipelines.
  • Integrating security checks into every stage of the software development lifecycle. Because the earlier we catch it, the cheaper it is.
  • Automating infrastructure with tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation to reduce manual risk and increase repeatability.
  • Working across cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) to enforce secure-by-default patterns for compute, storage, and networking.
  • Collaborating with development and operations teams to shift security left without slowing anyone down.
  • Implementing and maintaining tools for vulnerability scanning, static and dynamic analysis, and compliance monitoring.
  • Logging, monitoring, and alerting on system activity to catch the subtle stuff before it becomes headline-worthy.
  • Defining policies and guardrails that balance real-world usability with best-practice security.

This is an onsite position, and you'll be the go-to expert for secure automation and delivery. If you're passionate about building systems that are fast, scalable, and secure by design, we want to talk.

Let's lock it down, and level it up.

Requirements

What You Bring:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or equivalent hands-on experience securing systems in production.
  • 3+ years in a DevOps, security engineering, or platform engineering role, ideally with a strong automation focus.
  • Proficiency with CI/CD tools like GitLab, Jenkins, GitHub Actions—and integrating security into the pipeline.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP), especially around IAM, networking, and encryption.
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.) and securing workloads at scale.
  • A strong grasp of secure coding principles, application threats, and how to design mitigations that stick.
  • Excellent communication skills. You can help developers understand a vulnerability without sounding like a compliance bot.

Bonus Points If You:

  • Have implemented zero trust architectures or similar advanced security models.
  • Hold certifications like CISSP, CEH, AWS Security Specialty, or similar, but we care more about what you can do than what's on paper.
  • Have been the person everyone turns to when "security" and "deadline" are in the same sentence.

Benefits

  • PPO or a High Deductible Health Plan, HSA eligible plan, Dental, Vision, and Supplemental Life.
  • Generous paid time off that starts accruing on day one
  • Hybrid work environment with quarterly Castaway Week events in the Omaha HQ Office, all expenses paid, from across the country to participate in team-building, collaboration, and fun events
  • Company vacations!!! Previous destinations have included Napa Valley, Cancun, Cabo San Lucas and Aspen
  • Matching 401k with 100% vesting in six months
  • Pick your preferred workstation! Mac? PC? We'll support you with the tech you need to do your best work
  • Get paid to go to national and international conferences and training, so that you can stay up to date with the latest innovations
  • Flexible work schedules: Work the times that fits your schedule, with all meetings required to be scheduled between 9 am and 3 pm CST
  • Free lunch every Friday and recurring team events for you and your family to enjoy
  • Incentive and bonus pay.
  • Opportunities for connection and growth through peer coaching, recurring Lightning Talks to share things we're passionate about, and a bi-weekly company-wide All Hands
