Qualifications

• Bachelor's in a STEM field with 8+ years in DevSecOps or related roles.
• Proven CI/CD design experience with GitLab CI or GitHub Actions.
• Cloud infra deployment on AWS/Azure/GCP using Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK.
• Containerization with Docker and orchestration with Kubernetes.
• Integrate SAST/SCA and image scanning into CI/CD pipelines.
• Linux admin skills and scripting in Python, Bash, or Go.
• Git-based branching, tagging, and release workflows.

Responsibilities

• Bridge database engineering, API development, DevSecOps automation.
• Build MVPs from concept and create reusable templates for multiple databases.
• Design, tune, and maintain relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Aurora, Oracle, MongoDB, AWS RDS).
• Support database migration, backup, replication, disaster recovery, and point-in-time recovery.
• Ensure secure software delivery per DoD, IC, RMF, ICD-503, NIST SP 800-53, STIG, and continuous monitoring requirements.

E&M Technologies, Inc. is currently seeking a DevSecOps Engineer to join our team in Alexandria, VA in support of the Defense Resources and Infrastructure Office (DRI). DRI's mission is to catalog and analyze military and civilian infrastructure and defense-related resources that underpin a nation's or group's military capabilities-including transportation, logistics, defense economics, energy systems, arms trade, physical vulnerability to weapon effects, defense industries, and the operational environment-to support U.S. and allied planners, targeteers, warfighters, policymakers, partners, and acquisition official.

Job Responsibilities

• Bridge database engineering, API development, DevSecOps automation, and secure platform architecture.
• Be comfortable taking an initial concept, building an MVP, working directly with platform teams, and turning the solution into reusable templates and implementation patterns for multiple database technologies.
• Responsible to design, tune, and maintain relational and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL, MySQL, Aurora, Oracle, MongoDB, and AWS RDS-based services.
• Support database migration, backup, replication, disaster recovery, and point-in-time recovery activities.
• Support secure software delivery in accordance with DoD, IC, RMF, ICD-503, NIST SP 800-53, STIG, and continuous monitoring requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field and 8+ years of experience in DevSecOps, DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or platform automation roles, or 12+ years of equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree
• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI or GitHub Actions
• Experience deploying cloud infrastructure on AWS, Azure, or GCP using IaC, such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK
• Experience containerizing and orchestrating workloads using Docker or similar containerization and Kubernetes
• Experience integrating automated security checks into CI/CD pipelines, such as SAST, SCA, or image scanning
• Experience in Linux administration and proficiency in scripting languages, such as Python, Bash, or Go
• Experience with Git-based branching, tagging, and release workflows
