Job summary

Nextlink, a Hudson Oaks, Texas-based ISP, is seeking a DevOps Engineer to help automate processes, deploy and maintain both physical and cloud infrastructure, and develop monitoring capabilities.

You will work with Engineering, Field, and NOC teams, build scripts in Python and other languages, manage data center resources, and deploy Google Cloud or AWS services.

This full-time role requires 2+ years in networking, Python, Linux/Windows, and a relevant degree; onsite at Hudson Oaks is expected.

Qualifications

• Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from one-year college or technical school.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience with routers, switches, and other common network devices.
• Minimum 2 years’ SNMP experience, basic routing and wireless experience.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in Python, HTML, CSS, Java, Bash, and other languages.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience with Linux, Windows, and server operating systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain up-to-date device models for monitoring systems.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Field, and NOC teams to meet data collection standards.
• Identify, develop, and maintain scripts/tools for automation to improve efficiency.
• Provide automation of processes and device changes.
• Assist in deployment, development, and maintenance of physical or cloud infrastructure.
• Manage datacenter and deployment of physical servers and hardware.
• Deploy and configure cloud services such as GCP or AWS.
• Serve as SME for network operation and infrastructure devices.
• Document code and SOPs per procedures.
• Track and report on projects or work.
