Job summary

EXL is seeking a Sr. Cloud DBA Specialist to remotely manage Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL databases across prod and non-prod environments. You will install, monitor, and optimize performance while aligning with security and audit standards.

You will automate processes with scripting languages, collaborate with app teams, and provide 24x7 support. Strong Linux and cloud experience, plus AI/GenAI familiarity, are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Hands-on Sr. DBA experience with Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL and Linux infrastructure.
• Experience with data platforms and large databases, performance tuning and optimization.
• Experience and knowledge in cloud technologies: AWS, Azure, Snowflake, Databricks (nice to have).
• Familiarity with AI/GenAI for database optimization and DevOps automation.
• Exposure to AI in cloud ecosystems (AWS AI services, Azure Cognitive Services).
• Experience with data security, audit and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Support and manage Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL databases in prod and non-prod environments.
• Install, configure, monitor, and ensure security/compliance of databases.
• Optimize performance (SQL/PLSQL), troubleshoot incidents within SLAs.
• Design and implement data models, mirroring, backup/recovery strategies.
• Automate processes using scripting languages (Shell, PowerShell, T-SQL, PL/SQL, Perl).
• Collaborate with application teams and vendors for lifecycle management.
• Provide 24x7 support, including on-call and weekend coverage.
• Stay current with cloud tech and AI/GenAI advancements.

Critical Skills (Must Haves)

• Hands-on Sr. DBA experience with:
• Oracle (Single Instance/RAC, Multitenant, Active Data Guard)
• SQL Server
• PostgreSQL
• Expertise in RDBMS installations, patching, and upgrades
• Performance tuning in SQL and PL/SQL
• Experience managing large databases (>50 TB)
• Cloud technologies Administration experience: AWS, Azure, Snowflake, Databricks (Good to have)
• Tools: Datadog, NewRelic, Oracle Enterprise Manager 13c+, Toad
• Strong Linux administration and scripting skills
• Knowledge and experience with AI/GenAI technologies (e.g., AI-driven automation, predictive analytics, database optimization using AI)
• Ability to leverage GenAI for operational efficiency, such as automating repetitive DBA tasks and enhancing DevOps pipelines.
• Exposure to AI in cloud ecosystems (AWS AI services, Azure Cognitive Services) for advanced database management.
• Cloud tech experience with S3 buckets and file transfers
• Managing and upgrading Oracle APEX (Plus)
• Knowledge of MongoDB and other RDBMS
• Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills

Key Responsibilities

• Support and manage Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL databases in production and non-production environments.

• Provide 24x7 support, including on-call rotation and weekend coverage.
• Stay current with industry trends, emerging Cloud technologies, and AI/GenAI advancements.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience) .

Experience

• 8+ years as a Senior DBA with expertise in Oracle, PostgreSQL, and other RDBMS, along with Linux infrastructure management.
• 3+ years hands-on Administration experience with:
