Sr. Cloud DBA Specialist is responsible for managing critical and non-production databases in multi-tenant environments, ensuring high availability, performance optimization, & compliance with SOX and PHI standards. This role demands strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.
Education Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience Qualifications
- 8+ years as a Senior DBA with expertise in Oracle, PostgreSQL, and other RDBMS, along with Linux infrastructure management.
- 3+ years hands‑on Administration experience with:
- DataBricks
- Snowflake
- Oracle APEX
- AWS
Key Responsibilities
- Support and manage Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL databases in production and non-production environments.
- Install, configure, and monitor databases; ensure compliance with security and audit standards.
- Optimize performance (SQL and PL/SQL), troubleshoot issues, and resolve incidents within SLAs.
- Design and implement data models, mirroring, and backup/recovery strategies.
- Collaborate with application teams and vendors for database solutions and lifecycle management.
- Provide 24x7 support, including on‑call rotation and weekend coverage.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging Cloud technologies, and AI/GenAI advancements.
Critical Skills (Must Haves)
- Hands‑on Sr. DBA experience with:
- SQL Server
- Expertise in RDBMS installations, patching, and upgrades
- Performance tuning in SQL and PL/SQL
- Cloud technologies Administration experience: AWS, Azure, Snowflake, Databricks (Good to have)
- Strong Linux administration and scripting skills
- Knowledge and experience with AI/GenAI technologies (e.g., AI-driven automation, predictive analytics, database optimization using AI)
- Ability to leverage GenAI for operational efficiency, such as automating repetitive DBA tasks and enhancing DevOps pipelines.
- Exposure to AI in cloud ecosystems (AWS AI services, Azure Cognitive Services) for advanced database management.
- Cloud tech experience with S3 buckets and file transfers
- Managing and upgrading Oracle APEX (Plus)
- Knowledge of MongoDB and other RDBMS
