Job description

At AMPECO we are accelerating positive change and transformation to clean technologies. We do this by enabling businesses with innovative software solutions in the e-mobility and energy sector. Our product is a SaaS used by companies to manage their EV charging infrastructure, processes and efficient energy use. It’s offered as a white-label product and is already used by companies in the UK, continental Europe, South and North America, Australia and Asia.

Our team is highly motivated, capable, and committed to our mission. We are looking to expand it with like-minded capable people, eager to give, learn and grow together with us.

About the role

We are continuously scaling the AMPECO platform and onboarding clients migrating from other charging management systems. We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our DevOps team who will also act as the technical liaison to our Technical Architecture consultancy team, which guides clients through their migration to the AMPECO platform. This is a hands-on infrastructure role at its core — with the added dimension of supporting client migration projects from the operations side.

Read on if you believe that you can contribute to our mission. We aim to advance the transformation of the mobility and energy sector with technology and smart software solutions.

Your contribution
  • Act as the DevOps point of contact for the Technical Architecture consultancy team during client migrations — reviewing migration designs for operational feasibility, provisioning and preparing environments, and supporting cutover and rollback execution
  • Participate in client-facing technical sessions when infrastructure, networking or integration topics require DevOps expertise
  • Identify roadblocks and inefficiencies in migration and deployment workflows, and work with both teams to plan and implement improvements
  • Create and maintain runbooks and documentation for repeatable migration processes and post-migration handover to steady-state operations
  • Monitor service performance, reliability metrics, and infrastructure stability
  • Define and maintain Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and related alerts
  • Design, Configure, deploy, manage and automate AWS cloud infrastructure
Must have
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain infrastructure topics clearly to architects, consultants, and client stakeholders — and to represent DevOps confidently in cross-team and client-facing discussions
  • 3 years of experience with linux administration
  • 3 years of experience with AWS: ECS, EC2, RDS (MySQL), CloudWatch, VPC, Lambda
  • Network administration (IPv4, IPv6, Dynamic routing, IPSec, etc.)
  • Experience with Terraform, Shell scripting
  • Experience building and running Docker containers
  • Self-motivation and willingness to dig deeper to find out the best solution
  • Desire to engage in continuous learning to ensure knowledge of latest DevOps technologies and AWS product updates
  • Excellent time management and personal organisation skills
  • Fluent English (written and verbal)
Considered as an advantage
  • Experience with migration, system cutover, or client onboarding projects — including planning rollback and validation steps
  • Experience working with consultancy teams, vendors, or in professional services environments
  • Experience with Python and or Ruby
  • Experience with building and administering Nginx, PHP based web servers
  • Development background with PHP/Laravel/NodeJS/ReactNative
  • CI/CD tools like Gitlab and Bitrise
  • Knowledge of or keen interest in the e-mobility sector
What we offer
  • Opportunity to join a fast-growing company on the path to become a global industry leader
  • Opportunity to work with amazing, highly experienced people
  • EV week — option to use a company electric car for a week every 1-2 months
  • Flexible work hours
  • Bonus day-off to celebrate your birthday
  • 5 additional vacation days, after your first year with the company
  • Health insurance for you and for your family, with premium coverage
  • Monthly shared mobility allowance (covers Spark and GOeGO)
  • Social events and awesome team buildings

Our team at AMPECO is deeply committed to our mission and we’re looking for like-minded individuals eager to give, learn and grow with us. If you’re passionate about innovative technology and want to make a real impact in the e-mobility sector, we want to hear from you. Join AMPECO in building the future of EV charging!
