Job summary

CAS, headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain tooling applications and deployment pipelines. The role focuses on automation, reliability, and fast delivery of software products for internal and external customers.

The successful candidate will bring 5 years of Linux-based DevOps or software development experience, plus hands-on expertise with common tooling (Jenkins, Elastic, Prometheus, Grafana, Terraform, Ansible) and scripting

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience in a Linux-based DevOps or software development environment.
• Hands-on experience building, supporting, and administering enterprise tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain reusable, high-quality code for tooling applications and deployment pipelines.
• Build deep expertise in team-supported tooling platforms, troubleshoot issues, improve reliability, and drive enhancements.
• Drive automation to accelerate delivery, reduce manual effort, and simplify operational processes.
• Provide operational support for internal and external software products, improving availability, reliability, and speed to market.
• Evaluate tooling to identify trends and recommend strategies that improve reliability, efficiency, and the overall value of services delivered to internal and external customers.
• Anticipate potential risks or failure points across supported platforms and proactively develop mitigation strategies before issues impact users or business operations.
• Contribute to the business case for new tooling, platform changes, or process investments by identifying and articulating cost, efficiency, and risk-reduction impacts.
