Job summary

Parsons is seeking a Software Engineer in Las Cruces, New Mexico to help transition established waterfall practices to incremental DevOps delivery while maintaining reviews, documentation, security, and configuration control.

You will analyze, design, implement, test, and document software for high-profile satellite communications systems, collaborate across disciplines, and contribute to CI/CD pipelines, Jira tracking, and automated testing within an Agile framework.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering and DevOps experience.
• Experience with Git, GitLab, and Jira for work tracking; implementation and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Analyze, design, implement, test, and document software for satellite communications systems.
• Collaborate with developers, testers, configuration management, operations, systems engineers, and project managers to improve delivery and reliability.
• Support transition from waterfall to incremental DevOps delivery within Agile planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and continuous improvement.
• Use Git and GitLab for branching, merge requests, code review, and traceable source control; implement CI/CD pipelines.
• Use Jira to manage backlog items, requirements, defects, and delivery tasks and maintain traceability to code changes and test results.
• Develop automated unit, integration, and regression tests and integrate checks into delivery pipelines.
