Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Jr./Mid-level Software Engineer to join the team at the White Sands Complex in Las Cruces, NM. The role involves gathering software requirements, designing, developing, debugging and troubleshooting software that interfaces with hardware systems.

The candidate will work with NASA-related ground terminals under the SENSE contract, providing telemetry, tracking and command software solutions and supporting customers with first-level on-site technical assistance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics or related technical field and 2 years of relative experience.
• US citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain DoD Secret security clearance.
• Must be able to access government worksite.

Responsibilities

• Performs systems modeling, simulation and analysis for telemetry, tracking and command software solutions.
• Contributes to documentation for new or existing programs.
• Designs, develops, troubleshoots and analyzes software that interfaces with hardware systems.
• Assists in customizing applications and maintaining program libraries and manuals.
• Provides status updates on software and hardware availability to management.
• Collaborates with customers to provide hands-on first-level support.
