Job summary

Flexjet is seeking a DevOps Platform Engineering Manager to lead the platform engineering team within its IT group. The role focuses on guiding engineering solutions that meet business requirements, adhering to architectural standards and industry best practices.

This position reports to IT leadership and collaborates with security, architects, and business leaders. The candidate should bring hands-on AWS/Azure experience, strong Linux knowledge, and proven ability to design scalable

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Networking or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure.
• 5+ years managing virtual servers & SAN storage.
• Good knowledge of Linux Operating Systems.
• Experience collaborating with software developers to troubleshoot deployment challenges.
• Experience with cloud native/cloud first applications in AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure.
• Experience with platforms such as AWS MSK, API Gateway, IAM, DynamoDB, EKS; Azure Storage Accounts, Networking, Container Apps, KeyVault.

Responsibilities

• Manage, train, and develop DevOps Platform Engineering team personnel and oversee workloads.
• Design overall platform engineering strategy in collaboration with architects and IT leaders.
• Develop platform engineering policies and procedures.
• Architect and support provisioning and migration of infrastructure from cloud to on-premises when appropriate.
• Architect, design and deliver solutions using existing components; adopt new technologies and document best practices.
• Assist engineers in implementing and troubleshooting cloud and on‑premises infrastructure solutions.
• Work with software architects to explore new cloud tools and frameworks to speed cloud adoption.
• Establish standards for build, deploy, and monitoring tools and document best practices.
• Identify opportunities to reduce operating costs across environments.
• Interact with vendors and partners as needed.
