Job summary

Xcelerate Solutions is seeking a DevOps Engineer to contribute to design, deployment, and maintenance of a full stack containerized microservices architecture. This role requires working across systems engineering, development, security, and operations in a hybrid remote setup with Bethesda, Maryland as a key location.

The candidate should have a TS/SCI clearance with polygraph and DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification, plus extensive Kubernetes, CI/CD, and Linux experience.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years in software development or systems engineering; 6+ years with Master’s degree.
• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with Polygraph ability.
• DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II+ certification (e.g., CCNA Security, CySA+, Security+ CE, SSCP, CISSP).
• Ability to obtain Privileged User Account per DoD 8570 policy.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, triage and maintain a production big data pipeline on Kubernetes, Elasticsearch, and Kafka.
• Enhance and maintain CI/CD and DevOps scripts, including AI-integrated solutions for security and compliance.
• Design, develop, and support scalable infrastructure (physical and virtualized environments).
• Collaborate with System Engineers to design solutions for new features and requirements.
• Provide technical input to systems engineering docs/diagrams with SE and Architect teams.
• Participate in Agile release planning, scrum of scrums, bug triage, and design sessions.
• Develop PaaS for hybrid deployments and secure multi-tenant GPU sharing in Kubernetes.

Xcelerate Solutions is seeking a DevOps Engineer. As a DevOps Engineer you will contribute to the design, deployment, and maintenance of a full stack containerized microservices architecture as well as technical systems administration, installation, and configuration. You will participate in fostering a DevOps culture, building strong cross functional collaboration with systems engineering, architecture, development, security, operations, and integration teams, in a dynamic and fast paced environment.

Clearance: Must have an active Top Secret/ SCI security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance

Responsibilities:

• To deploy, triage and maintain a production big data pipeline using a microservice architecture running on Kubernetes, Elasticsearch backend, and Kafka messaging
• Enhance and maintain CI/CD and DevOps scripts and processes including AI-integrated solutions for failure analysis, security and compliance to facilitate faster development, quicker error detection and resilient deployments
• Design, develop, and support scalable, redundant infrastructure to include physical and virtualized environments
• Collaborate with System Engineers to design solutions for new features and requirements
• Provide technical input to systems engineering documentation and diagrams/models working in coordination/collaboration with SE team members and Architect team
• Participate in Agile release planning, scrum of scrums, bug triage, design sessions and other meetings
• Develop PaaS solutions for hybrid deployments and secure multi-tenant GPU sharing solutions in a the Kubernetes environments.
• BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience with 8+ years in software development, system engineering or related field. 6+ years of experience with Master’s degree.
• Must have an active Top Secret/SCI security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance
• Possess at least one DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II or higher certification, e.g., CCNA Security, CySA+, Security+ CE, SSCP, CISSP (or Associate)
• Ability to obtain Privileged User Account (PUA) certification per DoD 8570 policy
• Experienced with container/container orchestration, specifically Kubernetes and troubleshooting experience with:
• Ingress/Gateway API
• Affinity/anti-affinity rules
• Familiarity with external-secrets, ArgoCD, cert-manager, eck (elastic search)
• Integration of GitLab CI/CD components
• Integration of GitLab Code Quality reports
• Integration of GitLab Code Coverage/Test reports

Knowledgeable in navigating Linux OS, specifically:

• Knowledgeable about sysctls for K8s environments
• FApolicyd and SELinux experience
• Comfortable with Elastic Search, Logstash, Kibana
• Demonstrated ability to participate in cross-functional planning, coordination, and task execution

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with systems at scale
• Experience/knowledge of key Agile processes and techniques
• Experience with development, i.e. Bash, PowerShell, SALT, Python, Groovy, Java, etc.
• Experience on a production/ enterprise system
• Experience with any of the following technologies:
• Kafka or other message passing systems (AMQP, JMS)
• Helm and Helmfile
• Nexus
