Job summary

Enlighten is seeking a highly motivated DevOps Engineer to join our fast-paced team. The role focuses on Kubernetes orchestration, cloud automation in AWS, and scalable infrastructure, with hybrid work a norm.

Ideal candidates have hands-on experience with Terraform, Ansible, and Go/Python scripting, plus a DoD clearance or willingness to obtain. Onsite presence in Columbia, MD is expected 1–2 days per week.

Qualifications

• Active Secret DoD security clearance with US citizenship.
• 5+ years in DevOps or software development; or 3 years with a Master's; or 9 years with HS.
• Strong Kubernetes or other container orchestration knowledge.
• Deep AWS experience (EKS, EC2, EBS, S3, Lambda).
• Proficient in Terraform and Ansible for configuration management.
• Experience deploying, scaling, and managing applications and containers.
• Programming in Python, Bash, or Go.
• Git, Flux, and related deployment tools familiarity.
• Comfortable in a terminal-based environment.
• Strong Linux system administration and troubleshooting.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• AGILE software development understanding.
• DoD 8140/8570 compliance certs or willingness to obtain within 60 days.
• Hybrid work: ~1–2 days weekly at Columbia, MD office.

Responsibilities

• Support cloud infrastructure deployment in AWS, especially EKS.
• Support on-premise and portable edge infrastructure deployments.
• Automate deployment processes and ensure reliability and scale.
• Manage Kubernetes containers and AWS resources.
• Collaborate with developers to integrate apps into infrastructure.
• Monitor production systems and troubleshoot issues.
• Improve processes and tooling for high availability and performance.
• Stay current with new technologies and industry trends.
