Job summary

Cologix, Inc. is seeking a DevOps Engineer in Denver to join the Systems Administration team. You will design, deploy, and monitor automation services that support core business operations, and streamline processes across multiple systems.

The role emphasizes enhancing DevOps practices, maintaining documentation, and coordinating release activities. You will collaborate with engineering teams and vendors to deliver scalable, reliable solutions in a production environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• 3+ years of experience in DevOps.
• 3+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, systems engineering, or related role.
• Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix system administration and networking fundamentals.
• Experience with automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible or equivalents.
• Experience with open-source technologies and cloud platforms.
• Working knowledge of Apache, Tomcat, MySQL, and JVM-based server environments.
• Familiarity with scripting and programming languages such as Python, PHP, Perl, and/or Ruby.
• Strong understanding of IT operations best practices in production environments.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and own projects.
• Demonstrated leadership skills across technical and operational teams.
• Proactive, adaptable, and eager to learn new skills.
• AWS architecture certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to implementing new products while supporting DevOps practices across Engineering.
• Collaborate with vendors and engineering teams to deliver reliable, scalable solutions.
• Develop standards, policies, and best practices for DevOps environments.
• Design and implement simple, repeatable, reliable solutions to streamline systems and workflows.
• Own release management activities for controlled deployments.
• Maintain systems and tools across development and production environments.
• Develop and maintain version control processes.
• Create technical and operational documentation for new systems and facilitate knowledge transfer.
