Job summary

Aquent is partnering with a leading financial institution to hire a senior enterprise systems engineer. You will own administration, automation, and monitoring for critical systems within a high-stakes trading environment.

You will design and implement automation, build dashboards, and drive SDLC improvements across Linux and Windows platforms using diverse tech stacks. This role demands deep ownership and proactive issue resolution.

Qualifications

• 6-8 years of enterprise-level administration and support.
• 6-8 years writing automation scripts and building proactive monitoring/alerting using Grafana, Influx, Datadog, Moog, ThousandEyes.
• 6-8 years of SDLC process improvement experience.
• Extensive hands-on enterprise systems administration, monitoring, and deployment.
• Proficiency with Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 hosted via Virtual Machine.
• Strong Linux and Windows system administration, troubleshooting, and tuning skills.
• Development experience in .Net, C#, PowerShell, YAML, Java, Python, Bash.

Must-Have Qualifications

• 6-8 years of experience in enterprise‑level administration and support.
• 6-8 years of experience in writing automation scripts and building proactive monitoring and alerting solutions using platforms such as Grafana, Influx, Datadog, Moog, and ThousandEyes.
• 6-8 years of experience practicing and improving SDLC processes.
• Extensive hands‑on experience with enterprise systems administration, monitoring, and deployment.
• Proficiency with Windows Server operating systems (2016, 2019, 2022) hosted via Virtual Machine.
• Solid understanding of IP networking concepts, including DNS, DHCP, firewalls, and IP routing.
• Familiarity with large‑scale distributed systems and high‑availability architectures.
• Strong Linux and Windows system administration, troubleshooting, and tuning skills.
• Development experience in one or more of the following programming languages: .Net, C#, Powershell, Yaml, Java, Python, Bash.
• Knowledge of one or more database technologies: SQL, Oracle, MongoDB, Postgres.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• A strong customer orientation, with a proactive approach to owning, communicating, and following through on projects and issues.
• An extreme sense of ownership, driven to resolve problems effectively in a distributed environment.
