Job summary

WalkMe, an SAP company, is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join the Cloud Engineering team. You will help manage deployment pipelines, enhance observability, and support development environments as WalkMe rebuilds its runtime engine for hundreds of millions of users.

The role emphasizes security, automation, and collaboration across teams, with a base salary disclosed and a hybrid work model in a federal-facing environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4+ years as a DevOps Engineer, SRE, or similar role.
  • Proven software development experience, ideally in startups or top tech firms.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation using GitLab.
  • Proficiency with AWS cloud platform.
  • Solid knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with observability tools like Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana.
  • Familiarity with IaC tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Experience managing MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB databases.
  • Security best practices for infrastructure and apps.
  • Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills.
  • Strong communication and proactive learning mindset.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing deployment pipelines to enable smooth software releases.
  • Help implement and maintain observability solutions for monitoring performance and reliability.

We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our amazing Cloud Engineering team. We are developing WalkMe’s revolutionary runtime engine and transforming the online experience for hundreds of millions of users.

As this role will support our Federal business, US Citizenship is required.

This role will require working on Sunday's as needed. Will be able to take another day off that week.

What You'll Own
  • Assist in managing deployment pipelines to facilitate smooth and efficient software releases.
  • Help implement and maintain observability solutions for monitoring system performance and reliability.
  • Support local development environments to optimize developer workflows.
  • Work with development teams to ensure infrastructure aligns with project requirements.
  • Contribute to improving the security of our infrastructure by assisting with proactive measures and audits.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining automation scripts and tools to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Help troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and application issues to minimize downtime and maintain smooth operations.
  • Participate in evaluating and integrating new technologies to enhance the scalability, reliability, and security of our infrastructure.
What You Need to Succeed
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer or similar role
  • Proven Software development experience, preferably gained at a venture-backed startup or a top technology firm.
  • Expertise in managing CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation with tools such as Gitlab.
  • Proficiency in AWS cloud platform.
  • Solid understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Experience in managing databases, such as Mysql, Postgres and MongoDB.
  • Familiarity with security best practices and tools for infrastructure and application security.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
  • A proactive and self-motivated approach to learning and adopting new technologies.
  • Passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The base salary for this position is between $100,000-$160,000. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: location, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus and benefits as part of our competitive total rewards package.
