In this role, your key responsibilities will include:

• Shaping and engineering tooling and automation capabilities for our private cloud platform
• Defining automation standards, frameworks, and reporting mechanisms
• Driving the adoption of Event-Based Automation within G-Research
• Applying Infrastructure-as-Code principles to expand private cloud capabilities
• Designing and implementing Jenkins pipelines for infrastructure automation
• Configuring and deploying Jenkins pipelines using Jenkins DSL from code
• Using Ansible for orchestration development and managing existing codebases
• Creating infrastructure tooling to facilitate integration
• Developing new workflows for self-service consumption
• Developing and managing Go and Python libraries
• Enhancing our Terraform Enterprise platform with reusable infrastructure components and services
• Providing best practices for Terraform code creation
• Deploying Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Writing automation scripts in Python and/or Go
• Utilizing CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, CircleCI, and TeamCity
• Managing Ansible Playbooks
• Working with GitHub Enterprise or similar VCS
• Creating reliable pipelines utilizing ELK/OTel for metrics, logs, and traces
• Applying IaC concepts for configuration management and immutable infrastructure
• Automating checks within CI/CD pipelines
• Deploying and managing immutable infrastructure
