Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a DevOps and DevSecOps Engineer in Chicago to design secure, scalable pipelines using GitHub and Azure DevOps, collaborating across engineering, product, security, and operations to establish reusable architectures for enterprise platforms.

Qualifications

• 10 to 12 years of experience designing and implementing complex DevOps solutions.
• Hands-on with GitHub and Azure DevOps platform configuration and pipeline architecture.
• Strong knowledge of DevSecOps, automation security testing, and vulnerability management.
• Experience designing infrastructure as code and automated deployment solutions across environments.

Responsibilities

• Architect integrated DevOps and DevSecOps pipelines using GitHub and Azure DevOps, with automated builds, testing, deployment, and security validation.
• Optimize CI/CD workflows with branching strategies, build automation, deployment patterns, and environment standards.
• Define security controls across the SDLC, including automated security testing and policy enforcement.
• Develop reference architectures, patterns, and documentation; mentor teams on IaC, secure coding, and modern delivery practices.
• Establish monitoring and observability for pipelines and runtime environments, support root‑cause analysis, and drive platform improvements.
