Job description

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of cloud infrastructure, DevOps strategy, and automation solutions. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in AWS, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD, Kubernetes, and Cloud Security. You will play a key role in aligning cloud architecture with business goals, driving innovation, and ensuring high performance, scalability, and security across cloud environments.

Responsibilities:

• Architect and implement scalable, secure, and cost-optimized AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Lead DevOps strategy and drive adoption of automation and IaC best practices.
• Design and build CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, or AWS CodePipeline.
• Develop and maintain IaC solutions using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
• Lead containerization and orchestration with Docker, Kubernetes (EKS), and Helm.
• Implement cloud security, IAM policies, and compliance frameworks.
• Design monitoring and observability solutions using tools like Prometheus, ELK, Datadog, or AWS CloudWatch.
• Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to deliver reliable and efficient cloud solutions.
• Drive governance, FinOps practices, and cost optimization strategies in cloud environments.
• Mentor and guide DevOps engineers and promote a culture of continuous improvement and automation.
• Communicate architectural concepts and decisions effectively to stakeholders at all levels.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• 7+ years of IT experience, with significant experience in AWS and DevOps.
• Strong expertise in AWS services such as EC2, S3, IAM, Lambda, RDS, VPC, CloudFront, API Gateway.
• Hands-on experience with IaC tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Pulumi.
• Proven expertise with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, AWS CodePipeline).
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, or Go).
• Experience with Kubernetes (EKS), Helm, and Docker.
• Deep understanding of cloud security, identity management, and compliance.
• Strong background in monitoring, logging, and observability using Prometheus, ELK, Datadog, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional or AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional.
• Experience with GitOps tools like ArgoCD or FluxCD.
• Familiarity with hybrid cloud/multi-cloud strategies (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Knowledge of serverless and event-driven architectures.
• Solid grasp of architectural and design patterns and their application to real-world solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to create technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and present to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Location Requirements:

Candidates must be located within commuting distance of Bellevue, WA or Richardson, TX or be willing to relocate. Some travel may be required for project-related needs.
