Qualifications

  • 7+ years experience as IT Architect or similar role.
  • 8+ years in SVN administration and J2EE applications.
  • 2+ years in DevOps and containerization.

Responsibilities

  • Define and implement configuration management systems supporting the SDLC.
  • Develop automation scripts for build, deployment, and versioning.
  • Manage source code and mentor junior team members.

Job description

Description & Requirements: Maximus is looking for an experienced IT Architect - DevOps to lead the design and implementation of modern, scalable DevOps solutions.

This is a fully remote position.

Requires 10% travel.

100% mileage reimbursed at federal rate

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Define, develop, and implement configuration management systems supporting the SDLC.
  • Manage source code within version control systems (branching, sync, merge), compile, assemble, and package software, mentoring junior team members.
  • Perform and validate installations/upgrades/deployments/containers.
  • Define standards and best practices.
  • Develop automation scripts for build, deployment, and versioning activities, mentoring juniors.
  • Research and resolve technical issues related to version control and CI systems.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field and 7+ years of experience, or equivalent.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • 8+ years SVN administration experience.
  • 8+ years J2EE application experience.
  • 2+ years DevOps/containerization experience (Docker, Kubernetes, PCF).
  • Expertise in scripting languages: Ant, Jython, Bash, Groovy, etc.
  • Expertise in Agile and Continuous Delivery methodologies.
  • Experience with Jenkins or similar CI tools.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • May travel up to 10%.
  • Work in a regular office environment.
  • Ability to handle complex assignments independently, with minimal supervision.
  • Recognized as a subject matter expert in the discipline.
  • Knowledge of emerging trends and contribution to best practices.
  • Database management and data conversion experience preferred.
