Job summary

MECA Therapies, LLC is seeking compassionate Developmental Specialists to deliver Special Instruction to infants and toddlers in natural environments across New Mexico. You will coach families to incorporate developmental activities into daily routines and help implement IFSP outcomes with interdisciplinary teams.

The role requires travel, strong documentation, and adhesion to HIPAA and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
  • Professional license, if applicable.
  • Eligible to obtain NM FIT Developmental Specialist certification.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Willingness to travel within assigned service areas.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in multidisciplinary evaluations to determine Early Intervention eligibility.
  • Provide Special Instruction services across cognitive, communication, physical, social-emotional, and adaptive domains.
  • Coach parents on evidence-based strategies during daily routines.
  • Develop individualized intervention strategies based on IFSP outcomes.
  • Collaborate with families, therapists, Family Service Coordinators, physicians, and community partners.
  • Attend TTCMs, IFSP meetings, reviews, and transition planning.
  • Complete developmental assessments and evaluation reports promptly.
  • Monitor progress and adjust intervention strategies as needed.
  • Support family participation and informed decision-making.
  • Maintain compliance with NM FIT, IDEA Part C, ECECD, HIPAA, and MECA policies.
