Job summary

City of Virginia Beach is seeking a Developmental Services Clinician IV-Quality Improvement Coordinator to drive clinical excellence and regulatory compliance across the developmental services continuum. You will lead continuous quality improvement initiatives, oversee audits, and partner with program leadership to enhance documentation and service delivery.

The role offers a $4,000 hiring bonus and requires strong QA, compliance, and data-analysis capabilities in a healthcare/human services

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in a human services field with seven years’ experience with persons with intellectual disabilities.
• Or eleven years of equivalent experience in related fields.
• Current and valid DMV driver’s license.
• Experience with regulatory requirements (Medicaid/DS) and audits.

Responsibilities

• Lead quality assurance and performance improvement across the developmental services continuum.
• Analyze data, indicators, and trends to identify compliance risks early.
• Partner with leadership to prevent deficiencies and improve documentation.
• Provide consultation and training on QA findings and expectations.
• Develop dashboards and reports for leadership to monitor quality and compliance.
• Conduct routine chart reviews for accuracy and regulatory alignment.
• Support corrective action plans to reduce risk and sustain compliance.
• Coordinate year-round audit readiness and respond to auditor requests.
• Ensure confidentiality and HIPAA compliance in documentation practices.
• Contribute to program development and policy reviews for quality systems.
