Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Developmental Preschool Teacher to join our team. This role involves working with young children, including those with developmental delays and disabilities, in a supportive and engaging learning environment. The teacher will create and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans, foster social-emotional growth, and collaborate with families and support staff to ensure each child's success.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized and group lesson plans that support cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
• Adapt curriculum to meet the unique needs of children with developmental delays or disabilities.
• Utilize play-based and hands-on learning strategies to engage young learners.
• Monitor and assess student progress, maintaining detailed records and adjusting instruction as needed.
• Provide a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment.
• Collaborate with speech therapists, occupational therapists, and other specialists to support children's developmental goals.
• Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers, providing regular updates and guidance on child development.
• Assist children in developing self-help skills, including feeding, toileting, and dressing when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Participate in ongoing professional development and training to enhance teaching practices.
  
  

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, or a related field.
• Certification: State teaching license or certification in early childhood education and/or special education (as required by state regulations).
• Experience: Prior experience working with preschool-aged children, especially those with developmental delays or disabilities.
• Skills: Strong communication, patience, adaptability, and collaboration skills.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with IEPs and special education programs.
• Knowledge of behavior management strategies and inclusive teaching practices.
