Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lower Elementary Teacher to join our team at Sherwood Elementary School. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Developmental Kindergarten students and providing them with a well-rounded education that fosters academic, social, and emotional growth that meets the unique and individual needs of all students.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the school curriculum and state standards
• Create a positive and engaging classroom environment that promotes learning and student participation
• Must possess knowledge and understanding of elementary school classroom management and organization, current best practices in the areas of language arts, math, science, and social studies teaching and learning
• Knowledge and experience administering and using a variety of performance assessment tools
• Assess student progress and provide feedback to students and parents/guardians
• Use a variety of teaching strategies and techniques to accommodate different learning styles and abilities
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to plan and coordinate school-wide events and activities
• Attend and participate in faculty meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development opportunities
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance, grades, and behavior
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians about student progress and any concerns
• Knowledge and experience administering and using a variety of performance assessments
• Regular in-person attendance required

Requirements:

Compensation and Benefits:

Based on STEA CBA for the 2026-2027 School year, compensation starts at $46,041 Bachelors Degree, no previous experience; $53,882 Master Degree, no previous experience.
