Job summary

Appalachian Community Services is hiring compassionate individuals to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Murphy, NC. This is a hands-on, people-first role with flexible scheduling that fits around school, family, or other commitments.

You will help clients reach goals from their PCP, promote independence, and document progress as part of a supportive care team. Compensation is $14.00 per hour, with training provided on-site or virtually.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current and active Driver's license required.
• Minimum age 18 years.

Responsibilities

• Supporting individuals in reaching goals from their Person-Centered Plan (PCP).
• Creating a safe, positive, and encouraging environment at home and in the community.
• Helping with everyday life skills, independence, and confidence-building.
• Encouraging participation in real-life activities (work, social outings, community events).
• Documenting progress and coordinating with the care team.
