Job summary

The State of Washington’s Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) is seeking a Developmental Disabilities Administrator in Tacoma to oversee staff delivering habilitation services in line with Washington Administrative Code and agency policy.

You will interview and hire staff, supervise Attendant Counselors and administrative personnel, and collaborate with field services, residential case management, and the SOCR Management Team to ensure health, welfare, and service quality for clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in behavioral sciences, special education, business administration, public administration, or related fields.
• Four years of professional experience in human services, with two years in developmental disabilities or related conditions, and one year in supervisory/administrative program delivery.

Responsibilities

• Develop, plan, implement and monitor quality assurance standards.
• Read reports and interpret data to adjust client support plans.
• Establish processes to meet goals within the unit.
• Consult on complex cases with clients, staff, and partners.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate staff in a bargaining environment.
• Oversee training coordination and compliance tracking.
• Analyze reports to inform decision-making and improve outcomes.
• Represent the program in meetings and support planning and staffing.
