Job summary

Living Cities seeks a Development Strategy and Operations Manager to design and run the development engine—pipeline, moves, research, proposals, CRM discipline, and forecasting. You will enable senior leaders to cultivate, steward, and close commitments from foundations, financial institutions, corporate partners, and other funders.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years of development, institutional advancement, fundraising strategy, development operations, or related nonprofit revenue experience.
• Deep experience with moves management, prospect strategy, proposal development, and development operations.
• A track record of helping organizations close significant multi-year commitments with senior leaders.
• Excellent writing skills for proposals, briefings, and follow-up materials.
• Strong research skills to turn information into strategy for advancing relationships.
• Exceptional organization and follow-through managing many relationships and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Develop multi-year development strategy in collaboration with the CEO and CSO.
• Maintain a disciplined pipeline of funders and partners across foundations, financial institutions, and corporations.
• Own moves management with clear owners, actions, timelines, and follow-up.
• Support revenue forecasting, targets, dashboards, and KPI updates for leadership.
• Coordinate with internal teams to respond to funding and membership opportunities.
• Enable CEO/CSO with materials, notes, and correspondence for funder engagement.
• Prepare funder materials and engage external meetings to advance commitments.
• Create fundable narratives and donor-facing materials.
