Job summary

City of Marietta is seeking a Development Services Director to oversee Planning and Zoning, Code Enforcement and Community Development. You will direct operations, budgeting, and policy development for city development programs while aligning with regulatory standards.

You will collaborate with the City Manager, Planning Commission and other boards and lead initiatives across divisions to improve processes and outcomes. AICP/CED are desirable for the role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
• Advanced knowledge of local government planning and development processes.
• Experience in budgeting for multiple divisions and programs.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Development Services staff across Planning, Zoning, Code Enforcement and Community Development.
• Direct planning, budgeting and policy development for the city’s development programs.
• Collaborate with county/state/regional officials on land use and development.
• Review development plans for compliance with regulations and standards.
• Advise City Manager and elected officials on planning policy and initiatives.
• Prioritize Community Development Block Grant funds and oversee implementation.
