Job summary

Collier County is seeking a planning professional to review site development plans and ensure compliance with the Land Development Code. You will present petitions to the Planning Commission and support various sections with research and interpretations.

The role involves public interaction, site visits, and pre-application meetings to guide projects from concept to approval. A bachelor’s degree is required, with experience preferred and fingerprinting required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 1 year of related experience preferred.
• Candidates without a degree should possess four years of related experience, including planning and permitting or similar administrative, research roles.
• Fingerprinting required.

Responsibilities

• Conducts plan review of site development and site improvement plans for compliance with the Land Development Code (LDC).
• Presents petitions before the Collier County Planning Commission.
• Provides support to divisions with clarifications and research; conducts planning research using the Internet, libraries, and surveys.
• Provides the public with information related to project status and assists at the front counter with zoning and development questions.
• Conducts site visits for petition submittals and zoning certificates for compliance.
• Conducts pre-application meetings to guide project development during early stages.
• Participates in meetings and training; coordinates committees.
• Presents information on planning topics to focus groups, students, business community, residents, and county officials; acts as liaison with the public.
