Job summary

Collier County seeks a professional highway engineer to design, manage, review, and oversee highway construction and development projects ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and standards. The role provides guidance to contractors and work crews, coordinates daily activities, and prepares design documents, plans, specs, and cost estimates.

You will perform site visits, review development plans, conduct engineering analyses, and ensure stormwater and infrastructure compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
• Five (5) years of related experience.
• Fingerprinting required.

Responsibilities

• Performs professional highway engineering work involving designing, managing, reviewing, and overseeing highway construction and development projects.
• Provides direction to contractors and work crews; coordinates daily activities; monitors progress and inspects work.
• Prepares design documents, plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Reviews site development plans and permits for compliance with codes and standards.
• Conducts engineering analyses and prepares reports; coordinates with management and outside agencies.
• Coordinates project management, schedules, and budgets; monitors contracts.
