Job summary

The Town of Scarborough, Maine, seeks a Development Review Planner in the Planning and Codes Department to advance progressive planning initiatives and support sustained growth. You will work under the Planning Director, serving as technical staff to the Planning Board and collaborating with the Town Engineer and Code Enforcement Officers.

Qualified candidates hold a bachelor’s degree in planning or a related field and have 2–3 years of municipal experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a field such as land-use planning, public administration, civil engineering, landscape architecture, or related field.
• 2–3 years of planning/development review experience in a municipal environment is desirable.
• Availability to work evenings and strong public speaking and communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Perform planning, development review, and development inspection functions for the Town.
• Serve as technical staff to the Planning Board and coordinate with the Town Engineer and Code Enforcement Officers.
