Job summary

The City of Billings is seeking a Development Project Coordinator to coordinate projects in the City's Development process and work with developers, contractors, designers, and City departments. This role requires both collaborative and independent work, with a Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Qualifications

• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint).
• Must read and understand plans, building codes and ordinances.
• Must have a valid Montana driver's license or obtain within 30 days.
• Experience with municipal government preferred.
• ICC Plans Examiner Certification (IRC/IBC) within six months and a second within one year.
• Be honest, respectful and maintain a positive attitude.
• Able to analyze data, anticipate consequences and act accordingly.
• Able to organize, prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Serves as project coordinator on assigned projects from pre-application through project completion.
• Coordinate with customers and City departments to maximize project efficiency.
• Maintain awareness of progress to minimize delays.
• Develop strategies to maximize process efficiency for customers and staff.
• Prepare and distribute materials related to council agenda items and memos.
• Create and update project reports for City Administrator, Mayor and Council.
