The City of Billings seeks a Criminal Deputy City Attorney to perform professional duties providing a full range of legal services for municipal government operations. You will represent the City in criminal proceedings before courts, agencies, boards, and arbitrators, and advise City departments on criminal issues. Salary Range: $100,433.01 - $134,533.78 per year, based on a 7-step pay scale.

Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate from an ABA-approved law school.
• Active membership in good standing with the Montana State Bar.
• License to practice law in Montana state and federal courts.
• Ability to pass Federal and State background checks.

Responsabilités

• Prosecutes misdemeanor criminal offenses on behalf of the City.
• Represents the City in criminal proceedings before various courts and agencies.
• Advises City departments, staff, boards, and commissions on criminal legal issues.
• Prepares pleadings, briefs, and court orders; conducts legal research.
